Cold start question

I am looking for a cold start sensor because my motor does not have one on it. It is an 85 tpi. I looked at all of the auto part stores and online and cant seem to find one for sale. Can I just bypass the cold start sensor? If so what will be the effects?

Where do I find a thermo switch? I called the part stores and they dont have those.
