White smoke

Car has 173k miles and it just started smoking, I can smell Radiator water when I accelarate and I am running low on coolant. So, I know that heads are always known for leaks, so are there any other places to check?

Head GASKETS are more known for leaks than heads. White smoke is steam. You are "burning" water. Why ignore the common cause and go on a witch hunt? Check for the obvious, common cause, first. When you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras. Don't make it any tougher on yourself than necessary. If the head gaskets check out OK, then you can start scratching your head and looking for help. The problem is a blown head gasket.

Should have been clearer, when I said heads I meant head gaskets.

Poof! says the head gasket. It should be very obvious once the heads are off.

If the gaskets look fine it's typically a cracked cylinder head.

Heads, head gaskets, either way, why overlook the obvious and spend time looking for exotic problems while the most likely cause is still staring you in the face? Eliminate the most common stuff first.
