OK, here's the deal.....last week, the shifter started becoming very difficult to move from 1st to 2d ONLY....from 2d to 1st is fine.....all other shifts are OK. If I floor it in 1st, the 1-2 shift works, albeit grudgingly. If i rock the shifter back and forth across the "neutral zone", it will work a while, then it returns. PLEASE tell me this is shifter or linkage...lol...thanks in advance guys/gals..... :cry
Your 1-2 synchro is worn but you 1st gear synchro is not.
I don't know much about the internal ZF6 shifter or how it works but I'm willing to bet you have to open the case to fix any shift fork related problems.

Well, I guess I'm luckier than I thought...seems some well-intentioned dude at NTB reconnected the damn CAGS connector while they were doing the front-end alignment last week. When I bought the car, it was already disconnected, so I never drove a car with this fiendish piece of crap Gm invented on it....and hence never once looked at the DASH while this was happening....it was only the damn skip shift....thanks for the reply though!!!!
