Mark, the Lexan is very vulnerable to scratching.I have not seen any yellowing after 3 1/2 years, but its covered most of the time.
It will weak alittle when I wash the car with a spray hose.
The lexan is not rigid like the original hatch glass. For high racing or driving you must use some sort of fasteners to secure the lexan to the body of car.Otherwise the lexan will flap out at the corners.
One can use dzus or other fabricated fasteners.
This is a must do mod you will need to consider.
Good luck

Vic,the rear hatch glass is stored away right now,so I would not be able to weigh it at this time.I have the weight of the light hatch written down someplace, but need some time to find it.Remember, its been 3.5 yrs since I installed it.

There are different types of C4 Lexan hatches. I got my rear from Performance Fiberglass (usually advertises in National Dragster). The cheap base Lexan scratches VERY easily and won't yellow but will cloud up. An aircraft supply store will sell a scratch remover to polish these out but its a constant battle. If you spend more and get MR5000 Lexan, it is MUCH more durable but much more expensive. All the windows in my ZR1 are MR5000 except for the hatch because it was $$$$$$ and I had to cut it down to a fraction of its size anyway to clear the tubs. The rest I made from flat sheets of MR5000 I got at a plastic supply warehouse. You can cut it easily with a jigsaw and a special blade for plastics. click for pic http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/fastguy//pro_zr-1.jpg
