Goodbye Corvette
Well, my company has just announced a number of cutbacks, and being an ex-pat in Bahrain, my contract has been terminated.
I'm due to go back to the UK end of Feb which means I will have to sell my dream car.
I just finished spending money on it installing new carpets, weatherstrips etc. and it was really begininng to take shape. I'm going to miss the growl of the V8 and the kick acceleration. I just hope I can I can sell it for something reasonable before I leave.
I am hoping I have a job to go back to. If anyone is aware of a IT project manager position in the US, I'd love to hear from them.

Sorry to hear of your dilemma,and hope it turns around in your favor.If you havent done so already,try posting this in OFF Topic and others as well and maybe someone can help you as far as the jobs and etc. goes.
Its too bad you cant have your car brought home to where you have to go...but hope you can find a good job and stay here in the states within the next few weeks.

Heh I was laid off for a few months last year, this year I plan every month on getting fired as we lay off all the time, I'm already doing 3 peoples jobs, how many more can I do?

good luck!!! you should get good money for the vette in the middle east. lotsa rich people with pocket change...
however, the IT biz has taken a real beating the last few months... layoffs are a time a dozen... hit the internet and hope for the best. you may want to check the UK first... there seems to be a lot of work there. if you can stay in the continent, you might be able to ship the vette to the UK and keep it!!!
