looking to purchase one of the following for my lt1. lt4 intake or the eldelbrock air gap intake to match up with some lt4 heads. any benefit of one or the other i should take into consideration. whats ur guys thoughts.
The LT4's have a raised intake port as compared with the LT1. The intake and heads are matched to LT4 and you can't mix LT1 and LT4 intakes and heads. If you want an LT4 manifold you have to change to LT4 heads as well or you have a big port mis-match.
I think Edelbrock makes an air gap manifold for the LT1's, but I really don't know anything about how well they work.
The OP said he wants to match up LT4 heads with LT4 or Edelbrock intake. So the question remains, which intake has better flow and performance, and I will defer this to JSUP .....

If you get the LT4 heads you'll need either the LT4 intake or Edelbrock's version.
Their LT1 and LT4 are from the same casting, it's just machined different.
Stock LT4's command a hefty price.
So long as someone meantioned the AFR's, the 195's will fit you current LT1 intake.
no kidding in the corvette central mag they sell the edelbrock and it says it is like 5-10 more hp I think but it costs like almost $400 if I remember right.
Why not get a used one and port it?
Air Gap does nothing except get dirty.
lt4 manifold is the way i have been leaning, and keeping a look out for, but i saw the eldebrock air gap and it struck my interest so i was just asking everyone what they thought. thats all
