Default Some engine removal questions

Ok, tranny is out and just about everything on the motor is unhooked. I have a couple of questions:

I am having trouble stopping the fuel coming out of the line to the manifold. I thought I had the system depressurized but I had to put a crimp on the line to stop it...very messy. Did I miss something here?

Can I leave the alt and pwr steering pump on the motor during removal?

Will the motor with the clutch assembly fit on a std engine stand? I can't get the PP loose and I'm afraid if I tug on it harder, the car will come down on my chest . I thought I'd do it when it's on the stand.

I'll probably have more questions. Here's where I am at now:

Try taking the gas cap off the tank....do not use a bic pen or plastic golf tee in fuel lines to stop the flow

Take a much on or off the engine as you want just just make sure you engine hoist can take the load. While you have the engine on the hoist try to remove the rest of the clutch and pressure plate.

Gravity, maybe. Try placing a rubber fuel line hose over the ends of the steel supply and return lines forming a loop.

Of course. However as with the A/C compressor, if you leave it with the car, you won't have to break the lines possibly avoiding more mess.

The clutch won't fit on any engine stand I've ever owned. Once the engine is out, lower it until the pan is on the floor to steady it while you remove the pressure plate bolts. The flywheel bolts may be difficult to reach with the engine on the stand, so you may want to consider removing it at the same time also.

RACE ON!!!

if you have too much gas in the tank, it will always siphon.Disconnect the hoses at the tank ( under the rubber tray around the filler cap and let lines drain.
Remove wiper motor to prevent plastic cover being smacked by engine.
Removing dizzy also allows you to lay the engine back at a better angle so as to get crank pulley clear of steering rack as you lift engine..

Ha...I already made the mess with the pwr steering fluid. but the fuel from the fuel lines cleaned it up nicely

Why didn't I think about looping the fuel line? I'm not going to quit my day job.

Thanks all!

It's never really run right. There's been too many hands fooling around with it. I think I have found someone who is reputable to go through it..make sure the components are matched...clean it up..put back together and bench dyno it.

I am tired of the oil leaks and blow by. Also needed a clutch. Also noticed seals on diff are leaking. I'm going to take that out too.
