I'm glad it worked out for you. I like those black braided hoses you have there, what kind are they and where did you get them?

Thanks, I decided after seeing your post, and really having a chance to size things up starting from scratch was a better way for me. While the parts included (shims and foam blocks) will work, I decided there was a better solution/s to doing this set-up. The foam included to block /control the air (if it it gets soaked/wet etc.). and the shims (on mine) pulled the sides of the shroud away from the edge of the rad. (no seal around the sides of the rad.).
The black braided line is earl's (3/8 and-6 at the trans). There is a place local to me; Fluid Systems eng. that is Parker Fluid supply and supported by earls'/holley. I have the teflon core line(tried the same black braided line and pump gas was trying to deteriorate the line!) for the fuel lines, and using the "super stock" black hose for the heater hoses. I haven't finished the upper hose which will have a filler neck. I had decided to eliminate the upper reservoir and lines, and the rest of the ac ("box" at the firewall) etc.

When the back side of shroud is attached, it fits at the sides of rad. perfect and clears the core section by approx. a tick over a 1/16".
Nice job! That looks really good. The only reason we went with the spacer plates is that many people cringe when you say "cut the shroud" or modify this or that.

Thank's for all the support guys but dan6712cc does have a valid point.
We wish everyone would bring their problems to us first but they don't have to and in this case, we probably should have posted a product notice or something. I messed up, but if you search us out on this forum and everyother one I'll bet you can't collect more than (2) two negitive threads regarding our company and/or products. Considering what we do, and the group we do it for, that's a pretty good report card. I think that's why members come to my rescue when something comes up because it is a rare event when we make a mistake. With that said, let's agree here to cool it, and use this post to inform members of the old and new instructions. I did actually win/buy that shorud on ebay and Dan, you can still have it if you want. Just say the word and it's yours.

When I set up this radiator (A90), we fit it into the radiator housing, making sure it fit the cushions, didn't hit the ac condensor, and the top cover installed. The only problem was I didn't think to bolt the fans back on. After we sold a few, a customer called me and told me the fans would not fit without trimming the shroud. He actually gave me the illustration to show what he did and that was used in the first instruction.

The only problem was he told us to trim off way too much and people complained about the gap. That's when I said enough! I pulled out the package again and started over. Then I realized that you have about 3/16 interference. I also noticed becool sold spacers for theirs and they charge an extra $75 for them. I thought it would be a nice touch to just include the spacer bars with the radiator. During this second try at the layout, I noticed the air space above and below the radiator was more than I would like, so we had custom foam seals made to address that problem and we re-did the instructions at that time.

So you can use the parts that we send or you can do it this way, both are fine. Some people are better at trimming and cutting than others. You make the call. O&O td

Same thing happened to me

Mr. Dewitt posted a reply that he was going to change the instructions, but obviously he never did.

He also said he was going to buy me a new shroud.....yah, right

I bought a new shroud and it fits with no cutting at all.

Unfortunately, you will have to do the same.

Expensive radiator, great product, but honestly Mr. DeWitt, your instructions STINK! Just my 2 cents

I just can't stand knowing something is not done right on my Vette and I will probably end up doing what you did as well.

Hmm, you guys are making me nervous. I guess I'll try without cutting. I'll be taking this step within two weeks.

No-one will ever buy you a new part, they'll blame you for not follow instructions. "well, we meant ..."

Tom, since you want to make it right I don't want to deny your offer and leave this unsettled. I started this thread and posted a problem that you are willing to fix so I don't think it's right not to let you do that. Please check your PM's for my address.

Now you are making me nervous and I don't think your hearing me. The fan shroud WILLl bolt on without cutting but it will interfer with the thicker radiator by about 3/16/ When you pull the shroud up tight with the bolts, it's going to have to press harder and possibly dig into the radiator fins or worse, break a tube. If anyone does that, IT'S NOT WARRANTY.

Apparently you missed the two offers above for a FREE shroud to Dan. I have one and he can have it but for some reason, he hasn't ackowledged my offer.

Lets recap:

1. Our old instructions were wrong and I admit that.

2. Our new instructions are correct, the kit includes free spacer bars, and foam seals that nobody else does. The instructions are on our website for download. If you don't follow these instructions and have a problem with the radiator as a result, we are not going to warranty it.

To say our instructions stink? what's up with that? I'm trying to communicate solutions and some people here seem to just want to create more confusion and stir the pot. I've said all I can say with this thead...follow our NEW instructions.
