Well today when I was removing my front air intake duct one of the screws that holds it down fell down between the radiator and fan shroud. I hurd it is a pita to remove the radiator shround and if I do
get it off will I be able to reach down in ther and get the screw? I can order one from arts corvettes, I was just wondering if the "screw" will do any damage down there? What would you-all do. BTW I own a 1986 corvette.

They sell a tool, $4.59 at Home Depot that is magnetic and is 24" cable with a small claw on the end (four wires that grab) opperated by a spring on oppsite end of the cable. Sounds confusing but it works.
I don't think it would do any damage. I would just pull the shroud and get it, if you can't get it through little hole near the radiator cap. If I remember right the shroud has maybe 8 screws around the top then you should be able to lift it high enough to see under it and get the screw with a magnet. It shouldn't have to come all the way off. When you do get it, secure it with a pop rivet so it won't fall out again, the rivet will also stop it from spinning, thats what I did, no more problem..WW

I'll try to get you a pic. I'm at work now.
I'd like to see it. I saw one recenelty that was a telescoping magnet thing with an led light on the end.
If you do a google search for "magnetic pick up tool" or just "pickup tool" you will get quite a variety of sites where you can look at the pictures of different types. The run from about $5.00 on up. Most any auto/hardware area of discount stores, auto supply stores, Sears etc. should have them.
