Hi, The 85 vette I just bought died and will not start now. The car is new to me so I do not know the history. It would start right up no problem. I took it down the road and it just died. Looks like new wires, rotor, cap wires and plugs. I replaced the coil just for fun to see if this was the culprit. I pulled plug 1 out and the end was very wet, I then turned the motor over and the plug had a spark.
Ok, at this point it looks like it is getting fuel and spark...so now what? The fact that the plug was wet, could it be getting too much gas? Flooding?
Thanks for any advice.
do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key to "run"? Aside from the wet plug it sounds like classic fuel pump problems. And the wet plug could mean a few things like residual fuel or even oil.
Hi, I should have checked one more thing before I posted. Sometimes things are too too simple. Car started right up tonight after putting 4 gallons of gas in the tank. The gas gauge is not working. I wish I could pull my first listing so I dont get put on the dumeass list.....LOL
Thanks
