If it has the stock, non-hardend pushrods and guideplates you will need self aligning.

Course he could by new pushrods/guideplates... Actually, I believe centerbolt valvecovers also require a narrow-body rocker. If you wanna get the good stuff, it looks like CC PROMAGs aren't cheap!

I put a set of these in my 88. I guess you pick up about 15 HP. They are very quiet and I never had a problem with them. Plus they are easy to install.

The stock self-aligning rocker ratio is 1.5:1; if you install 1.6:1 rockers you will need to remove the non-hardened OEM guide plates.

For this reason I installed hardened guides & push rods with 7/16" studs and non self aligning 1.6:1 CC ProMagnum RRs.

Of course you will also need new springs as the stocks are pretty weak even when new.

Default L88 heads. Need Info

OK here is the stupid question of the day. I have an 84 Corvette that I am rebuilding (attempting) the engine on. I am about to place the heads on the block. They are identical so I did not mark right or left. Now when I go to put them on I find the water temp sending unit for the fan in the threaded hold on the rear of the head under the exhaust manafold. Now then, the other head has a hole in the exact location as the other head.

What goes in that hole?

I am ready to take all the obuse for being this dumb. I bagged and marked everything I took off and also took a picture of it, except for the heads.

Anyone that can help me I will be in debt to.

Thanks

Ron
