Traction control is for mary's... Just kidding  :jester
Don't use traction control. Learn to run without it. Two ways to launch from what i've read on here. I myself come out of the hole at idle. THen start accelerating without spinning too much. Some guys keep the revs at around 3500. Then feather the clutch while accelerating. This technique is harder on the clutch and drive train. More wear sooner. My LT4 is completey stock down to the worn GSC's 285 in the back. Since you have 4.10's you'll have a harder time not spinning the tires. You should be running slicks if you really want to punch it hard out of the hole. But either technique i mention should work. I can run 12.9-13.0's all day using the off idle technique. Except for one time were i installed a set of used GSC run flats( damn run flats). Between that, the hot weather, and track not having great traction i was running in the 13.3's-4.
I use nitto's at the track set to around 22psi, heat them up alittle, get to the line and rev to 2500rpm, on last amber mash gas/letout clutch. This is usually good for a 1.8x 60ft. time.
You just need to find that fine line between traction with minimal spin and a smoke show :D I kinda dump the clutch and gradually hit the gas as it's hooking. Hard to explain, just need to practice!

All of my former cars with power had automatic transmissions..Ive never had a v8 stick.
BTW I was looking at my 9 foot long stock shifter (/sarcasm) It looks like I can just hack off a few feet to shorten the throw...anone done this? If so how did you get the severed bits back together..Ducktape?

My brother did this to his Camaro, but the Camaro shifter only takes 15min to remove. You just have to have a machine shop cut new threads onto the shaft, or use a shift **** that uses set screws.
The problem with the ZF is that the shifter is hard to remove (underneath car, disconnect exhaust, etc)
