I have a spare intake manifold for my 89,and although there does not seem to be much material that can be removed, should I gasket match the whole manifold,or just the runner to manifold ports??
In any case gasket matching, where possible, would be a good idea to aid air flow.
Thanks,I have viewed the siamese manifold mod.
and understand how this would create better air flow, but dont understand why the makers of aftermarket intakes dont sell them siamesed or is it because their ports are already enlarged?
Also the head to intake are these ports also gasket mathked??or better left alone.

If the intake is larger then the head then port matching will gain a bunch of flow, if the head is larger then the intake then the port matching won't show nearly the gain. Match the ports, not the gasket, but do make sure the gasket doesn't stick into the air path.
I took a few pictures while working on mine, click on my Corvette pictures under my avatar to the left.
