85 electric window
Window rolls up about 3/4 of the way and then I can hear motor slipping and gear rachet type noise. I can see broken white plastic on structure at middle of door. I need some tips on how to get the door apart to get access to the pieces I need to replace. I removed all screws and got the center aluminum piece that has some of the door latch and opener rods attached to it to move free. Do I detach the rods to get this piece out?Any help appreciated.

You dont need to remove this panel,just move it out of the way to get to the Reg.The ribbon broke and needs to be replaced.The window comes out and then the Reg.These regulators are junk,most update these to the late 86 style.

Thanks Jeff, I think the ribbon may be damaged but there is also broken white plastic pieces on the main frame.Is that part of the regultor replacement?

Some pictures of the white pieces might help, my guess would be that they are part of the original ribbon which has broken.
