Default Replacing Door Sill Carpet

Ok, so I order the new carpet to replace the worn out carpet on both of my door sills. The real question is how do I or what do I use to glue the new carpet to the plastic sill pan? I pulled it all apart and see that it will need to be glued and then trimmed to fit the plastic pans/pieces. Do I need to take it to an upholstery shop or can I do it myself? Thanks for the advice in advance.

I got my carpet from The Last Detail and was so miffed about trying to fit the sills that TLD voluntered to do it. At least if you have a shop do it they have to get it right. Just my 2 cents.

There is a super powerful spray adhesive in a spray can made by, I think, 3M that I have used for headliners, carpet etc. works great. It is really sticky and tough to get off so use it with care.

I Used the 3M product bought at Lows , Spray Can. Spray Both Carpet Back And Plastic Sill, Let Sit Till tacky . I also used a wall paper roller to remove any air bubbles and masking tape on the edges until dry. as far as the plastic trim, a few well placed drops of Gorilla Glue and more masking tape until the glue set up , about 2 hours
