suggestions for ignition upgrades?
I'm going to perform a major tune up here soon. the vette has sprung a water leak, is still running rich, and has a small oil leak too. So, its going to be torn apart and I want to add some things while in there.
For starters, I've got ac delco rapidfire #5s ready to go in, they will work with gmpp fastburns right?
I also want to replace the wires (two boots are badly corroded). Any suggestion...must be blue!
I also want to upgrade the distributor, coil, and anything else possible. suggestions?
I think I should replace that fram air filter with a k&n while I'm at it too.

I've had the best performance with the AC Delco FR5LS plugs. For plug wires, MSD Heli-Core and Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm wires are direct fit, have low resistance and come in Blue. Also, the stock Distributor, Cap, Rotor and Coil are all that's needed.

I've been running the HyperTech coil/cap/rotor combo for >8yrs with very good success. It burns brightly to close to 6k RPM.
Since you want blue wires the Taylor would be a good choice; Summit should have them.
I'm running OEM style AC Delco plugs with cut-back electrodes for a little extra power gain.

Unless you have gone to an intake that will allow you to reach another 500-1000rpm, I highly doubt any ignition upgrade will be helpful.
Although if you are going to replace, Hypertech ignition stuff is pretty good.
