When I turn the air on in the car and turn the fan speed to hi, the air barely's comes out. Its like a whisper of air no matter what. Does it sound like the duct work is off somewhere or what??
Also, it takes forever for the heat to get warm and then it doesn't even get hot enough, you still freeze. Sound like a thermostate problem?
Can you hear the blower motor pitch change when you switch between low and high speeds?
You may want to pull the fan and take a look at it... could be loose on the motor or covered with crap.....take a look around in there while you have it off and see what you can find as far as air flow blockages.
It wasn't to bad at all. I had to remove a few torx bolts from the fender well for the blower motor to be removed. Then I could take a picture with my digital camera of the core to see what it looked like. I bought a bottle of spray grease remover, and just sprayed then wiped, repeated a bunch. I could reach fine through the blower motor opening.

I have been putting this same job off for 2 years because I believed that I had to take off the entire outboard side of the evaporator housing to clean this area. Maybe now I will give it a shot!!! Thanks.

Oh no, I didn't on mine. I did take out the blower control module on the inboard side top to look at the other side of the evap core. There wasn't anything wrong there. That hole is pretty big if you want to spray from that side too. I did remove the mesh screen, I thought it would help create more airflow. While there I checked for debris around the drain hole.
It only takes a few mins to start cleaning. Remove just enough fender bolts so that the blower motor will fit past. Then just reach in and have at it. I used a soft bristle brush to scrub as well, to be careful of bending fins.
From the Factory, the inlet side of the Evaporator Core is covered with a Foam Filter that's glued in place. The photo looks like a Core that's had the filter ripped off. You're not going to see this side if you simply remove the Blower Module or Resistor Pod.
Compressor oil destroys these filters and will restrict airflow so if you suspect that it's restricted, have someone stick an electronic leak detector in the Vents before you yank it apart - if it's leaking, better to only do this job once and I wouldn't install a new filter.
Start your troubleshooting by jumpering the Blower Motor directly to the battery. If that makes the air flow normal, something else is going on.
