Default engine recomendations

I have an 89 vette with stock l98 engine. I going to either have it completely rebuilt and bored over or buy a completely new crate engine for it. Is theyre any suggestions on any good engines out theyre that will work. I have been looking at the zz4 base engine from pace performance. Will the zz4 base work with my tpi system from my original motor? What adjustments would i have to make to get the zz4 base to work with my vette. Or would you recomend that I just rebuild my engine and have it bored over? Or do you all know of any crate engines, that will work with my car that will directly work with my tpi intake from my original motor?

A ZZ4 is essentially the same motor, with a slightly larger cam. Its rated with headers and a carb, so it will NOT make the power rating advertised once you slap the TPI on it. Nor will any other crate motor that isnt rated with your intake already on it.

For a car that I wasnt going to race, but drive alot and expect to start everyday, ZZ4 is the way I'd go. All you would have to do is install your components on it and it should be good to go, a custom chip is not even required for it (but I'd do it anyway).
