I was looking at the exhaust from Borla, the cat back system and my question is does it really have LT-1 style tips or are they slip on over the two tubes comeing out mufflers?
And another question is that I've been looking at a set of hooker headers shortie style for an L-98 that I have and was hopping that someone could give some advice on weather to get shorties or full length headers. Full length for the torque mayebe? Another is that what brand will work for angled pluges? Just need some pointers, thanks DarkRose94
Longtubes will give a performance increase, the only good shortys or Hookers but theyre nowhere near as good as the TPIS or Lingenfelter longtubes, they make them for angled plugs.
If they are what I am thinking of and are the "intercooled" LT1 tips, then they are not slip overs. Borla dos not cut many corners on their mufflers. As far a long tube headers go. Always buy long tubes if you can afford then. Shorties will only give slight gains over stock manifolds in most cases.
Thanks guys for the replies! Thats what I was thinking, but wasn't for sure. I was looking at the Hookers for the long tube style and the tech from Jegs said that the Super Comp will work for the angled style plug, but the Competition headers won't. Eventhough they are the cheaper set. $289.99 for the Super Comp headers and $141.99. I know this maybe a sinful thing to do but I'm doin a engine swap. The motor is the L-98 from a 89 and I'm putting it in an 86 chevy pickup.
