Default Dumb Question

I received a set of floor mats from Jim on the Forum. The box says 3 piece set, and it has 2 mats an a 3rd piece which is approx. 8''x3" with some cutouts around the edges and a square hole in the middle. What is the 3rd piece for? I have looked and can't find anything like it in my car.

PS: The mats were as advertised and well worth the money.

8 inches x 3 inches. It appears to be cut for some application, it just drives me nuts not being able to figure it out.

Don't have my car here (96) so can't look. Have you looked on the floor up around the firewall area, or how about in the rear carpeted area? Just a guess.

"Dead" pedal? Far left in the drivers side where your foot rests?

Sounds like the piece of carpet in the center console. A square for the plastic dividers. . . . . Maybe.

The panel directly under the steering wheel. It has a small rectangular hole for a vent. Never mind. The 3" is to small for what I was thinking.

I think I have found it. It appears to be for the inside of the center console. :D

Would you mind posting a pic of that piece in the console? For the life of me, I can't imagine it.

Sorry, I don't have a way to post a picture, but it is the piece of carpet that lines the bottom of the center console. The hole cut into it fits around the cassette tape holder.

Is it the black lining for the center console. The hole goes over the tape storage area?
