Default engine temp

Hey all I am new here lol i posted pics of my 92 what is the normal operating temp of the LT1Vette? I am going to chip mine and it requires a low temp thermostat but mine runs under 200 degrees now. I am wondering if it is already chipped LOL any suggestions?

If is the same as an 89 it has a 190* thermostat and the fans turn on at 225*.

Stock thermostat is a 180.

Our 94, with new anti-freeze (50/50 old style green) and new thermostat (correct AC/Delco one with extra plate on bottom)

cruising along, A/C OFF, runs at 194 F (per the digital dash gauge) And about the same 194 F on the analog gauge.

However, temp can run up to 200 during hot months,

and sitting at a light or caught in traffic, it can go to 228 before primary (driver side) fan kicks on.

However, with the A/C on, it will tend to stay 194-200 F, regardless of air temps (as both fans are running).
