Default Replacing shifter and opened a hornets nest

Well, started replacing the shifter with a Hurst. Read all the posts and horror stories. Now its time for mine. I figured I would drop the exhaust for easier access. That took 3 hours and I'm hoping it goes back on easier then it was taking it off. I thought I could just get the front pipes off (with the precats). Wrong, couldn't get any leverage to pull it from the main cat. Well loosened the bolts, on the back of the main cat, and the rubber mount broke and it came down, bam, crap, well its off. I did have to cut the stainless tube (egr, I think) to the main cat. Any thoughts here ? Can I just use hose and clamps to reattach it? This is just phase 1, can wait to address the infamous pin issue. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Good luck with the swap. I'm no help with the rest, but i know you can
reconnect the A.I.R. tube to the cat with hose and clamps. Benny
