Tranmission Trouble
Hi all,
New to the forum and the C4 vette. Picked up a 1990 with a front seal leak on the transmission. Just this weekend I got the transmisison out and replaced the seal, front bushing, and converter. While I was in there, also installed the full Transgo shift kit as well, for automatic mode. Got it all togethor and the shifts are now great as I expected, and no leaks. However, it seems to hang in 2nd gear down when coming to a stop. If I leave the shift in OD, it takes maybe 15 seconds to feel 1st engage while at a stop. If I leave the shifter in D, 1st engages about 4 seconds after a complete stop. If I manually shift to 1 while stopped, I can immediately get 1st gear. All gears hold strong and solid shifts. Could I have a governor issue? I have adjusted the TV cable 3 times using the factory procedure, and I am scared to adjust it away from that preset for fear of burning up the unit. Any help or inisght would be greatly appreciated. I have searched for a while on here but do not see this specific problem. Thanks again!

My thought is that if the trans down-shifted right before the install of the shift kit, but doesn't now, it has to do with something done (or not done) in the kit installation.
I'd give Trans-Go's tech department a call and I'll bet they can tell you what needs to be done.
