Ok ,here I go again. In the winter the vette runs great. As soon as it reaches 65 degrees or more I start to get stalling issues. If I idle for a while in traffic and then start moving in starts to buck and then stalls. It wont start but tries to fire. The exhaust smell s as if it is leaning out! Howeverif it sits and cools for a couple of hours it will fire up and go like normal until the car repeats the cycle.Does anyone think this is a sensor issue,(Airtemp) maf or ?? Any help would be useful
I'd say fuel delivery issue. Check your fuel injector's resistances cold & hot. They sould be around 16 ohms each....there is a "sticky with a video" by FIC on how to do this test on the C4 Tech/Performance page. Get a hold of a fuel pressure gage and take look at the pressure too.
You also might want to check for any codes that may have been set.I have to agree with Engle, it does sound fuel related.. Check both your injectors and the fuel pressure at the rails. The car bucking sounds like fuel shorage..WW
Engle1147,
Do you think this could happen all at once if it was the injectors. These injectors are darn near new and never did this initially.I have driven the car the last two days and had no problems. But again it has only been 60-65 degrees too! Fuel pressure has been checked and is 40lbs.If the car stall the ful pressure should remain around 40lbs, correct.I will have to check this the next time it stalls as I have not done so.What could cause this? New holley pump also. You thoughts are appreciated!
ww7, I have had no service engine lights on. Could I still have codes ??

Guys,
If the fuel filter is getting blocked could it cause the pump to cut out and then work again after a a couple of hours of cooling??? I appreciate the ideas. I just figured all being new all would be good!! Stupid me for not rechecking the obvious. I will be doing this tomorrow!!!Thanks will update!

It is possible you may have installed the filter backwards the fuel filters are directional...look or a "flow arrow" on it or a stamped "in" or "out". Another thing to check is the bleed down times for the fuel rail....see how long it takes for the pressure to fall off and how far it falls over 1 min. time frame.
sorry for the long delay in a response. I will try this. It didnt dawn on me to check this. I will post results later. Thanks for the forum help again!!
