Ok guys.. builder says that the valve covers won't fit on with my 1.6 LT4 rockers.. what's the deal?? I know lots of you guys have cut off the drip tabs like I did. Does the valve cover have to be completely flush on the inside?
Re: Need some quick help with my valve covers... (AS84)
Ok, I guess that I'll have to use the dremmel with a small piece on it instead of a large air tool to grind them down all the way.... do you happen to have a picture of yours?
Re: Need some quick help with my valve covers... (AS84)
Not to change the subject, but has anyone converted these to work on non-center bolt heads as well?
I would like to use my factory covers on my Brodix heads when I put them on, and yes, I test fitted them once and they pretty much will not fit unless all the innards are gutted off. :D

You have to eliminate them completely. Take a pair of vice grips and break them off (beats grinding for hours) then dremel the stump flat and make sure you rinse it very well to get the last of the plastic out.

Ok, thanks. I will take my dremel with me to the shop tomorrow and see if I can get those tabs down far enough that they will fit. This is the last thing to do as for mechanical engine parts. Once I FINALLY get it home then I'll start the computer tuning.
