I have a '96 coupe ( non FX3 ) which is my DD and I'm considering replacing the shocks. I'm aware that Bilsteins are one of the best and I've read many positive and negative opinions on KYBs, some say they don't work well with the C4 springs. Here's my question : Has anyone tried Tokico shocks on their C4 ?? Once again she's my DD, I don't autocross--But I do drive some "twisties" on the way to and from work.

I purchased z51 Bilsteins for my 88 and I wish I hadn't The kyb's road stiffer and I bottomed out let at high speed. Not worth the extra money, in stock vavling anyway.
A few members that I consider reputable on here swear by the Tokico shocks. Give them a try
I just replaced "with 85K on them" the OEM Bilsteins with Tokicos and it's best move i've made to date on my 94 C4 6SP. the front rubber grommet that Tokico provides is to small so i ended up using the original grommet but outside of that the Tokicos where totally superior in every way to the KYB shocks that i put in my previous 94. I bought the Tokicos on ebay for $199 + shipping was FREE and they come with a lifetime warranty. I gave serious consideration to TPIS's shocks because of all the great reviews that i read about them but the lack of a lifetime warranty steered me to Tokico shocks.
I just put a set of Tokico's on my '85 Z51 but since Mother Nature has not let me drive it I can't tell you anything. I went by word on a couple forums to get the Tokico's. I plan on posting about them as soon as I can.
Had Tokicio's on for over 3 years and IMO is a better shock than most anything out there, had KYB, Bilsteins and performance wise the Tokico's cant be beat....G
I hate my Bilsteins, so yeah, I wouldnt be surprised at all. Both the bound and rebound are way to soft IMO. I say this for driving on aggressive winding roads, and not in terms of track use, which I also do.
I would have tried Tokico for my 88 but they weren't available for the 88 front at the time I was shopping. They came reccommend to me by racebum, who has run koni yellows, saying the tokico was an excellent shock for the money.
I have also been in a qa1 coilover full cage 89, as well as an 89 z51 penske shock vette in race conditions. not that it really matters
Custom valved Bilsteins may be a different story all together
