Default Replacing the break booster

84 C4. I'm changing the break booster this weekend. Are there any step by step instructions on how to do this? I looked around but couldn't find anything. I think I can manage without instructions, but with makes it so much easier. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Alan took under an hour to complete the R & R. It almost took me that long to get the front seat out.

Just don't think about a cheap crappy booster from one of the discount parts houses they look like crap. If I had to get one it would be a new metal one.
I actually fixed mine a couple of years ago. The diaphram had ripped at the edge. I would post the place I got it from but they moved or folded. The old car restorers migh be a place to start looking. The part was about $40 to the house and there's nothing to changing it. You just have to deal with a pretty big spring inside.

If you do replace it with a discount parts store one, you may get two different length pushrods with it. Make sure you use the same length replacement rod as the old one in there now. I used the larger one by mistake on my 68 Firebird. When I tightened everything up and pushed the brake pedal the first time, I pushed the larger rod right through the booster diaphram and destroyed the whole booster! It was never even used yet. I was unable to return it because it was my stupid mistake. Good luck!

Too late to choose where to get it from. Pops already picked one up from who knows where. It looks like it's medal. It looks like it's made of brass. Is that the one you're talking about?

Thanks for the tip fourspeedvette, I wouldn't have thought of check the push rod. I probably would have done the same thing, lol.
