Default Spark Plugs

I am just looking for a quick answer. I just read that some spark plugs are hotter than other ones. Which is the hottest plug I can get that would keep oil from gunking it up due to worn seals? AC Delco Rapid Fires are whats on it now. NGK? I tried Bosch+4 awhile back and the car idled horribly! Changed the plugs again and it was fine. Thanks.

Going to a hotter plug will not solve your problem. Chances are that the problem is actually an intake manifold leak. Changing the gaskets will more than likely solve your problem.

Worn seals will show normally at start up. They usually don't leak enough oil to really foul the plugs. So change you intake gaskets and do the seals at the same time. Changing the seals is not too difficult.

You can try a hotter plug and see what happensm, but don't hold your breath.

How can you tell if you have an intake gasket leak?

I'll be replacing my valve cover gaskets, so replacing the seals would be a good idea. What brand/type seals is recommended for an L98? And any good writeups on replacing the seals?

Thanks

I agree,if you have an oil leak, gasket problem or blowby problem, hotter plugs wont fix it.It may prolong a few more miles if your lucky.
