C4 Tech/Performance L98 Corvette and LT1 Corvette Technical Info, Internal Engine, External Engine

2 piece main 383 Flexplate?

Default 2 piece main 383 Flexplate?

I made an OOOPS, I need to know what is the best solution

1985 with 2 piece rear main now a 383 Exterior balance I bought the new flexplate had it balanced with the crank and balanecer now I realise it is the 168 tooth so I need to:
(1) change starter to a 400 type
(2) Ad a balance plate to the stock 153 tooth flexplate $20.00
(3) have my stock flexplate changed to a 400 balance (weld weight on it)

If I run the 400 starter I think it will really be close to the header (HOT)

I am not sure about the balance plated seems kind of shade tree

Anybody had a 153 tooth made into a 400 balance flexplate?

Any experience in any of these would be appreciated.

Do yourself a favor an replace the 168 tooth flexplate with an external balance 153 tooth. LPE used to sell them. CSR sells them. Once you secure the correct flexplate. Take both to a machine shop and have them balance the 153 to the 168.
