Default Spark plug wire options

I need to replace my wires. Two of the boots are shot, and they don't look good anyways. Car is an '85 with headers, but I'm running the wires over the valve covers like the old chevys. Would a set for say....a '76 chevy fit good? I need all 90 boots, and I know a '76 chevy had all 90s, and length should be fine too correct?

Thanks!

Oh, and the car is running amazing now. The 3 and 7 point on the distributor cap were shot and all my plugs were fouled, especially number 5. I think I was running on about 4 cylinders, still made it to 140mph though.

I use MSD. I tried a lot of brands and they all burned on the headers. the MSD seem the most reliable.

They seem to have the best looking boots of all of them.

But any ol' set for an old sbc will work length wise correct?

The reason I suggested MSD is because their 8.8mm wires are cut-to-length, and come with the tool.

What did the mechanic do to fix the fouled plugs? Also, I thought the Distributor Cap and Rotor were just replaced?

I'm glad the engines running good now.

If you have headers, you might want to get the universal, cut your own lengh set. This way you can custom create your own lengths and won't have to compromise with too long or too short lengths. I use Taylor, others have used MSD or Accel. They all work as long as you get the right boot configuration.

Thanks for that. I got some cheapy ones from autozone for temporary. I had taylor wires on before and liked them.

I don't really like the idea of making my own because the last set I didn't work so well, the boots were iffy. :o
