Default Vortex rammer review

Wasn't sure but figured this was the best place to put this. Put on a vortex rammer finally on my 94 auto. I know there's quite a debate about the legitimacy of it but I gotta say 2 things. 1) yes the material is sure junkie. For instance, took me at least ten minutes to slip the first part of the acordian (pre-MAF) over the intake scoop of the rammer and only after I filed the sides of the plastic rammer scoop down cause they were formed too wide. Could slip it over part of it but soon as I tightened the screw up, the scoop would pop out. Had to pull the accordian almost 2 inches over the scoop so it wouldn't pop off. 2) Despite the flack it gets sometimes, I def noticed a big difference but not in how I expected. When first driving I actually noticed it seem to give more low end torque then anything. Wouldn't downshift nearly as much and actually felt like it wasn't as lugging as much at low rpm's in overdrive. Now after driving it another day or so, and couple red light launches, I def feel it added tons low end, but notice a slight more power everywhere. Got no dyno sheets or time slips yet, but it gets my stamp of approval for now. Hope this helps anyone debating its purchase.

Hope this helps anyone debating its purchase.
without a scientific approach with before and after track/dyno #s i doubt it will

theres waaaay to much controversy over this product for a single "seat of the pants" review to change the overall opinion of this part

Maybe it's adding a giant vacuum leak leading you to believe it's actually doing something..

I think you are accurate on this. I had to take apart and I noticed the TB was dirty and I was wondering how the F it got dirty in only 500 miles?

The only answer is the Vortex Ram Air does not seal all the way around and dirt goes in.

For my next C4 I just stick a K&N filter using the stock air box

Mine gave me 10rwhp and 8rwtrq on a pretty much stock engine. I didnt feel too much down low but it did pick up a little better on speeds above 60mph.

i have a few tricks already installed and have never been above 198*
and when driving w/o ac it stays between 159-173 depending on temp outside
with a/c on (rare) it sticks at 170-186

not bad for south texas
