Default Hooker 2151 LT1 Install Question

I just finished putting my headers in and took it for a short drive to make sure everything is working right. My headers aren't connected to my exhaust so its just straight exhaust coming out. My question, I have a pretty good vibration around the low RPM's where LT1's normally have a lot of resonance. The vibration also occurs when letting off the gas to shift. My passenger side header is basically flush with the heat shielding on the motor mount. I ground the vertical piece of the motor mount to allow clearance, but I didn't do anything on the horizontal part. I can't tell if the vibration is due soley to having open exhaust at my feet, or if the vibration is because the headers are knocking against the motor mount. Any ideas? I'll know after I get the exhaust hooked up tomorrow. I would really like it if I didn't have to pull the pass. side header and the #8 header bolt down to grind on that mount.

Those who did this install, did you have to grind down the horizontal component of the motor mount or just the vertical?

I also busted the coolant sensor on the pass. side, and replaced it. However, the old connector doesn't seem to be fitting into the new switch. Is it alright to drive around with this disconnected? I had thought that that sensor just controls the temp guage in the dash, but it seems the temp is still being read in the dash.

RE: Vibration - I had a bunch on open headers (drove it to the exhaust shop like that), but it all went away with the exhaust installed.

RE: Motor mounts - Been a few years, but I don't recall doing any grinding at all on the motor mounts...just reverse the bolts for clearance.

RE: #8 - I think the neighborhood kids may have learned some new words courtesy of that bolt! Finally came at it from underneath with a crow's foot and it went pretty easily.

Yep, that coolant sensor only controls the analog temp gauge. It won't hurt to leave it unplugged.

Yeah, that's what's confusing. No one else has stated that they had any conflicts with that part of the motor mount. The headers bolt up fine, however with the heat shield fabric in place, the headers are perfectly flush with one point of the motor mount. I guess I'll find out the source of my vibrations tomorrow.
