Default SMOG pump elimination HELP

Okay,

Ive found the pulley replacement kit. (1991 Convert)

There are some parts I am unsure about eliminating. The hoses X the front of the engine to a 2 part (symmetrical) unit that has 2-2 wire harnesses attached. Can these just be unplugged, or is there some other solution for elimination of this part.

Basically I am trying to track down all parts attached to the smog pump and clean this up and remove.

If there is anyone who has accomplished this without crashing their computer system or engine, please weigh in on this.

I have the intake plenum off, doing an injector change out. It would be nice to get all this taken care of at the same time. I am just worried about how to terminate all these lines, hoses and wires.

Any help, or links, threads would be appreciated.

The vacuum lines I capped, the wires I cut to unequal lengths and taped them. Then tucked them back in the harness. No troubles, no crashes.

I ran caps on the exhaust manifolds for awhile before I got headers. I just stuck a bolt in the hose so there was just a short length of hose sticking off the valve on the exhaust manifold. That was on longer then I intended while I got headers, two years!

I don't like the look and extra weight of the useless pulley on there so I moved the alternator up a little instead.

I taped up the wires and left the vac lines plugged. You dont have to cap off the exhaust manifolds, they are one-way passages.

Mine didn't totally seal. I can 100% say that some air blew out. Other cars may seal fully, check yours to be sure.

I just finished with the pulley kit today. On my 85, there were two modules with connectors which I taped up and tucked under the mainfold. The AIR piping across the front of the motor was tough to remove intact. I had to loosen the A/C bracket and remove the AIR pump and braketry and took the bolts out of the altrnator so it was loose. If you look carefully at the pipe that runs across the front, there are indentions that match the contour of the water pump so you can match it up and remove it. The pipe that runs under the compressor was even worse. I couldnt get the compressor to separate from the bracket and had to take loose the fuel lines to move the bracket over enough to manipulate the pipe out. If you cut the pipes up, it wouldnt be nearly as much trouble.

The TPiS pulley is a high quality product but it is also not quite as they say at least on my car. I had to grind down some of the alternator case so the bracket would lay down enough to get the bolt in. The reuse of the stock belt isnt going to be possible either. After installing, the belt seems at least an inch too long, I ordered a belt from NAPA, hopefully it will fit. I really was hoping for better fitment.
