Hey i got a 94 LT1 witha flow master exahust, will be installing a K&N Cold air intake this week end. I am looking for more horse power (as every man) want to do a proffesional tuning but before i do that i want to purchase a Hot Cam Kit. But dont know whats the best. Dont really want to change heads or any major major parts. Thinking about going to roller rokers new springs and of coarse a HOT HOT cam. What is the best most powerfull int/exh ratio on the duaration and lift. Dont really know whats stock or whats too much. I need some gearsheads input. I also want to undestand why its the better choice. Also what els will i need? (pushrods? ect..) Thanks.

There is an actual GM cam that is called the LT4 Hot Cam. Specs 218/228 525/525. Is this what you are looking for, or just camshaft recommendations?

First of all, I think there might be some confusion with the term "Hot Cam." The Hot Cam is a specific cam, designed by GM Performance for use on the LT4. You can buy a "Hot Cam Kit" that comes with the Hot Cam as well as 1.6 ratio roller-rockers (stock on the LT4). This kit works very well on the LT1 as well, though you don't have quite the intake-side airflow or the compression ratio of the LT4, or revs.

I think the Hot Cam would suit you well. It would be advantageous to have a little porting/polishing of your intake and heads as well as long-tube headers, but a cam will make more power even just with what you have. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but the Hot Cam will give a nice performance gain while retaining a decent idle (a little bit of lope), and it's pretty cheap as far as aftermarket cams go.

Click the picture to go to Summit's page. The cam alone is $210 from Summitt, the kit is $590.

My deal is if im dong all this work whats best and baddest that i can put. I dont want to do all this work to the engine for only a 15 or 20 hp gain. How much gain will this cam kit add. If it was ya, what would you put? I dont mind getting everything seperate.

I'm in the middle of my cam install. This is a huge project. I went with a custom cam. You can choose exactly what you are looking for from the cam.
