I have a brace off an '89 L98 and not sure where or how to mount it.
I have two shorter braces, one connected to the A.I.R. pump and the other to the altenator. But I also have another longer brace that I think probably supports the AC compressor. (see image)
Goes from exh manifold stud above # 4 spark plug to
top rear compressor mounting bolt (outside )
Should also have 4" long brace with bend in it
Goes from stud on fuel block of plate to A/c bracket behind idler pulley.
Recall there is a 3rd brace , lower front A/c mounting bolt (inside )to waterpump stud
Sammy ,
'87 has different compressor (Harrison ) on different bracket. Mounts closer to engine so additional braces not needed.
Note in pic the compressor is outboard of head on later models
You can see it going from the back of the compressor, to Exhaust manifold stud as listed. Mine is laying on the bench right now as my engine bay is dissassmebled, but that is where it is.
