Default high idle

1993 LT-1 idles at 1100 rpm when hot or cold from start up. Could it be a vacuum hose?

Verify your car is going into closed-loop when warmed-up. Use a OBD1 scan tool for this. Let us know what you find.

Thanks but you are talking over my head. I don't have a scan tool, nor do I know how to use one. Guess I'll have to bring it for service.

Seems like if i set my timing around 6/8 BTDC than it will accelerate no problem, but the idle after warming up is a bit up and down. Now if i turn the distributor clockwise it lowers my timing, get a nice idle, but when i "punch" the gas i get a little hesitation, which just drives me nuts. Any suggestions????

Don't feel bad. If it's anything like my thread it won't even get any lookers. Oh well, I'll just try the OBD1 thing.

What does it mean if it doesn't go into closed loop?

Maybe your throttle blades have for some reason opened up too much. Maybe lower the throttle blade opening adjustment 1/2 to 3/4 or a turn to see it this helps.
