I have a Chevy small block V-8 the code on the front of the block is:
KO419C8L.
I have tried local Chevy dealer to identfiy excatly what this is but they told me the 8 should be a letter. I've looked and looked but it is clearly an 8.
Any help would be great I have plans for a rebuild and neeed to know what i'm starting with.
Thanks
Does it really matter what the block came out of? Pulling the oil pan you will know if it is a 2 bolt or 4 bolt block, one or two piece rear main seals. Pulling the intake you will know if it has hydrualic roller lifters or not. I supose you should verify it is a 350 (you don't want a 305). The more important info might be the heads if you plan on rebuilding them.
