I just installed a Digital 6 in my 93. At around 2700 rpms my tach freaks out and bounces around and my service ASR light comes on and stays on. When I disconnect the ignition and put it back to stock the tach and ASR are normal does anyone have any ideas??
Thanks, I like your color polo is the only way to go. Is the tach filter the small black box on the coil wire? How do I bypass it? The MSD manual said to just bypass it but doesnt say how to
Now that I'm not sure. You might have to cut the wire and then tap it again on the other side of the filter, so it's not actually going through the filter.
Thanks for the help
I found some articles about it in the archived search and they said the same thing as you. Cut the two white wires splice them together and dead end the black which is a ground. Everything works fine now tach and ASR. Kindof wondering what that had to do with the ASR though oh well thanks again :D
The ASR (Acceleration Slip Response..?) needs the speed of the tires, it probably takes that from the tach. If its getting some funky value that it's not expecting its going to think its broke.
