Default Rotor Shields Question

Allright people. Just a quick question as to whether or not the front brakes on the 86 should have the same rotor or heat shields as the back wheels do? On the front end, there appears to be holes in the yolk for them - but not there. What gives? Were they discontinued? Just not there? Who knows? :D Perhaps there is enough air flow in the front? But I know someone out there can help me with info. Please and thank you in advance.

Rotors=12" standard duty.
13" heavy duty J55 option.
Don't know if J55 was avail. in 86. My 89 has 13's in front, and 12's in back. Heatsheild? Mine doesn't have this. Not the panel that keeps grime out of the engine compartment is it? In the wheel well with the a-arm coming thru? :confused:

My 86 doesnt have them up front either.Ive heard that when they did come from the factory that way,they were discarded by many owners at the first brake job for some reason.Im not the original owner so ill never know for sure for my car.
Maybe they caused the rotors to warp more trapping excess heat up there making it another freebie mod.
Oh well!!
