I was running the engine for 10 minutes when the car just shut down. I tried to start it but it would only crank. I repleced the pick-up coil and still no spark. I was going through the check list in the manual and what happen next I could not believe. When I disconnected the tach wire from the distributor the car started right up. Plently of spark and it seams to run fine. If I connect the tach terminal back to the distributor the car won't start.
Does any one know what the problem might be. I tried everthing !!
Never Mine. I found the problem. The tach wire is pinched between the intake manifold upper pipe.

My tach wire got pinched between cap and dizzy base. Took a few days before it decided to let me know.
