I just bought a Hypertech programmer and now when i program it and i take off down the road every now and then where it displays fuel economy it displays "SYS". What does this mean?
Was the SYS there before the Hypertech.....if so...99% of the time it is dealing with the battery/charging sys.....as stated on the above post......charge your battery first or have it checked......also u can pull codes on your 94 by shorting pins 4 and 12 on the 16 pin connector, 4 and 12 will line up with 4 on top and 12 on the bottom....turn the key on but do not start the car...look at the speedo area and the CCM will be in the auto mode for one cycle....then it will be in the manual mode.

Re: "SYS" Appears In My Display!! HELP! (OcalaGuy)
Not to worry. The SYS light comes on when your battery is low or if it's old, it's getting ready to drop dead.
The other reason is when after market radios are put into the car it will cause the light to come on.
I wouldn't stop worrying right away ... When I fried my computer, it displayed SYS there ... and when the stereo was swapped it did that .. AND when my battery was dying it did that.
It's not just the battery. I'd keep an eye on it. Hopefully the hypertech didn't mess anything up.
Re: "SYS" Appears In My Display!! HELP! (Glock'94)
"SYS" is indicative of a CCM error. You can pull the errors by using the DIC keypad. Most causes are a low battery. But if it isn't that, then you need to get in and get the codes. The Hypertech may have goofed communications between the PCM and the CCM.

How much did replacing the computer cost? Was it a pain to do?
Re: "SYS" Appears In My Display!! HELP! (Glock'94)
About a week ago, I reinstalled my factory Bose after having it repaired. That's when I noticed the flashing "SYS". I'm getting a Code 72 and it won't reset. I looked in the shop service manual, and Code 72 is for the Gear Selector Switch Circuit. Could just plugging in my stereo have caused this??
Update: After looking further in the service manual, I think I can answer my own question. Apparently there is more than one code 72, and I think the one that applies to my problem is the LCD Dimming Output Circuit which has to do with the radio control head(the thing I just reinstalled). I'm going to try to unplug that and see if the code clears. If so, that means my radio repair guy did something wrong, causing an open circuit or shorting to ground.
