steering wheel removal

steering wheel removal
hi,
i just recently purchased a steering wheel for my car.
i'm facing the following problem: i tried to remove it by pulling it out (after i removed the big nut that holds it to the steering column) but no result. then i noticed there are two holes in the steering wheel core where i figured out two screws might be put and screwed so that they will go thru the whole core and then push the core out.
please let me know if this is the procedure. also, i tried to use all sort of screws that i had and looked the same, however none of them worked. is there a special step screw that needs to be used.
