Will a 89 corvette steering wheel mount to a 94 corvette column. The airbag on the 94 steering wheel is blown, and I like to use the look of the steering wheel on the 88 model year.
I'm installing the 94 corvette components (motor, suspension, rack and pinion, etc..) into a 1953 chevy 5-window pickup. Obviously, I won't be required to have airbags in the 1953!
It could certainly be more "conversational" if you used the early column to match the wheel. The early column is "tilt & travel" NOT just tilt! I believe the "early" to "later" C4 column swap of the wheel could (I stress "could") be accomplished but there are several good reasons to use the earlier! Tilt & travel, less aggravation for horn and the wiper switch is NOT column mounted.
Maybe NOT what you wanted to hear but "good sense" I would think make this much more convenient and conversational! Every one I know with a '53 has "tilt"!!!!
