Default JBA Shorty Headers

Does anyone have experience with JBA shorty headers, particularly realted to ease of installation, dealing with plug wires, etc? I know shorties won't provide much if any increase in performance, but I am seriously considering a new cat back system so it would seem to be a good time to replace everything.

My current thought is shorties, new cats, and a magnaflow catback. JBA looks like a higher quality product than the Hooker or Pacesetter options. I feel this would give me a nice balance of power (stock LT1), sound, and looks.

My thought has been if you are stock, keep as much stock as possible. Unless your headers are in bad shape why spend the money. High flow cats and performance mufflers will change the sound but the 1994 LT1 has a plenty good exhaust system as is. Especially if the motor is stock.

Good points. As for why spend the money, to be honest, it is the mod bug that gets everyone. I have slowly been moding things (intake, rear end, etc) My current exhaust is stock with the exception of muffler eliminators, and while I love the sound, I guess I am getting old and it is starting to drone (pun intended).

If I am going for a nice new shiny catback, and the cats could probably be replaced being that they are stock and 15 years old (plus I don't plan to take it back apart later), why not upgrade the manifold end.
My other thought is to have the stock manifolds ceramic coated for better heat control and of course appearance.

I need to do a plug and wire change anyway, so now is the time to get all of it done at once. Going the stock route makes the wire management, etc easier.

I've heard a lot of "while i'm in theres" but never a plug change leading to headers

If you're wanting to change the Exhaust Manifolds anyway, why not get some Long Tubes and pick up some additional power. JMHO
