Hey I have an 87 L98 that I rebuilt the heads on. I put a compu cam and roller rockers etc etc. It wont idle below 1,000 rpms. I bought a chip figuring it would fix the idleing problem, but it didn't. I think the problem might be the roller rockers are too tight and the valves are closing all the way. I didnt do the head work, a friend of the family did so it could be. Anything else that it could be? What do you all think? :smash:

is the TPS reading the correct voltage?

Exactly!
There is a tech article on the forum about setting your tp sensor.
Go to :Tech Tips >> C4 Related Tech Tips >> How to Adjust your Early C4 TPS and Idle Speed
If you mean the idle won't go below 1,000rpm adjust the IAC and TPS.
If you mean it stalls below 1,000rpm, check all connections and check for vacuum leaks.
Though I did a static adjustment of my roller rockers you might try the dynamic method; it should be quicker. You can either bend pieces of cardboard or use a cardboard box top to catch the oil spatter. I suggest 1/2 turn after the "click" is just gone.
