1993 corvette security system

how do i bypass or reset the security system on my '93 vette.
the security light was flashing off and on then it stopped flashing.when i tried starting it the statrter will not engage.what should i do?

Did the horn go off? If yes, then unlock door w/key.
If it is the vats, then you need a new key or bypass it(do a search on vats+bypass, lots of posts on that).

no the horn did not activate

clean the pellet on the key and try again.

FWIW I have the CATS software, (used for programming the ecm chip) Anyways, in the program, there is a section that has VATS. It can be disabled through the programming.
You may want to post this in the tuning section to get other info. or contact pcmforless and ask them about it. I have used them for my tuning needs and they are first rate. Alvin knows his stuff!!

Sounds like the ignition lock cylinder is not reading the key and will need replacement. For a short term fix you should be able to use a VAT's by-pass jumper. Measure the resistance of your existing key pellet to order the correct one.
