Has anyone here built a motor with these heads and if so How did it do? These heads have huge flow numbers for 23 degree heads. They do require offset lifters but that can be done.
They are Raised Runner 23* heads like the AFR215 and the old GM Pontiac 867 with the addition of the Brodix 10XAP's have been machined at a 22degree valve angle... angle milled basically. Kenny Weld's place does nice work. He invented CNC ported heads back in the 1980's and his company still offers a good prouduct even if the port prifiles are a bit dated. They have a -12 Brodix port that won a bunch of races for us before everyone went to the Cup take off SB2.2 and scratch built Brodix GB series.
I've used a bunch of the Pontiac 867's in the past. 350CFM is par for the course with them from a competent head porter. 680ish HP is about the limit N/A with a cast intake and one carb on gas.
They require a raised runner intake manifold, offset lifters, offset rockers and they have 60/40 valve spacing with 2 1/8 intake valve which mandates flycutting std 23* pistons.
20yrs ago these type heads were the hot ticket and all the work required to fit them wasn't a big deal as they were 30-50HP stronger than the best low port 23* heads we could get... but 2 years later along comes the 15* and 18* heads and they were pretty much the same amount of fitting work, same money invested and we could easily go over 700HP....
IMO the same holds true today. If I had the heads laying around I might be tempted to use them... but if I was doing it all new, I'd build a 15* -12 motor and never look back. The cost is about the same new.

What intake would you sugest thats fuel injected for a 12* head?
