Map Sensor Wiring
I need a description of which wires are which on the MAP sensor and either a picture or a description like "Looking at the sensor with the vacuum port up and facing away from you" or something similar in case my wires are different colors than yours.
Thanks

I looked at mine, but I have my MAP sensor underneath the plenum and the connector has 3 black wires running out of it. I am sorry that I couldn't help you out more. -M-
the first pin on the left is 5v ref, then center is the MAP sig, and the right is 5v ground.
*------*-----*
5v----map---5vgrd
I am not shure how far along you are but you can splice 5v and 5v grd from you TPS sensor the gray should be 5v and the black should be 5v grd.
Then since your maf is now upluged for the 7730 why not take advantage and use the center wire(green) to bring back the map sig to the 7730 ECM.
Look at you center maf pinout for your 165 ecm and then repin that wire to F15 on the 7730.
This helps so you do not have to run and new wires thru your firewall.
One other try, Is you can jumper pin C and pin E at your ESC plug. Leave your ESC unplugged the jump these 2 wires together with a wire on the plug or splice them. This will give you a direct route to the knock sensor which the 7730 needs.
As you will notice your 165 ecm the ESC wire is blue and so it is for the 7730 so repin your blue 165 esc wire to F9 on the 7730. Once again this will give a direct route from F9 on the 7730 to the knock sensor.
Dont forget you need a 90-91 knocker.

Just when I was getting good at burning the 165 proms, I get to start from scratch burning proms for the new computer, yippie!
Note to any reading this and doing the 165 to 730 swap (or any other for that matter). Got a computer from who knows what car. I got about a foot of the wiring harness for the computer. However, since the harness was for another car and an automatic, not a manual, several of the connections that I needed did not have wires in them. Also there were several connections that I didnt need that had wires. So I had to move some of the wires around in the connectors (push the two tabs on the holder to tak it off, then slided a small screwdriver into the hole above where the connection is to slide the wire out). I would have been much happier if I had done this first instead of having made several connections and finding no wire for the next one I needed. I had to move approximately 5 of them. Also, when you are making the new connections, if the wire coloring of the new wire and old wire dont match, question it and recheck your work. MOST of the new wires are the same color scheme as the old ones. I almost mad a couple mistakes and always rechecking non matching wire saved me a couple times.
