How long was the Vette stored for? Was the Vette stored with a full tank of fresh gas? When was the last tune up?

You might want to check dizzy cap for condensation.

If you only had 3 gallons of gas in the tank when it was stored, it's possible that you could still have some condensation in the tank even though it was in a heated area. Once you stated the engine and ran it for some time, that could have clogged the injectors, or the fuel pickup sock in the tank. Add some good injector cleaner and pull the fuel pump/pickup to see if it's clean.

A lack of correct fuel pressure can cause what you are seeing. Are there any air leaks or opening in the intake air ducting? Also check the TPS for any binding/sticking.

The fuel pump seems to suffer the worst when a car sits, whether it be a mechanical or electrical pump. Anyways, thats been my experience. Probably much worse with the methanol additives.
