'92 LT1 convertible. As you'd expect, most of the time I drive with the top down and the radio up. I just got it out of winter storage so I've got the top up now, and I can hear the transmission. It's a sort of grinding/hissing sound. The sound is based solely on the speed of the car and goes away when the car stops. The pitch remains constant but gets louder as I go faster. I don't know if there's a bearing going out or some such thing, or if maybe the ZF is just a noisy transmission and I never notice it with the top down.

Started driving the car last week and noticed a similar noise. I do have the aluminum fw so I am accustomed to the constant thrush and gear noise.....BUT, this is noticeably louder than what it was 5 mo ago when I last drove the car.....Driveability----no issues, just louder....and I changed the tranny oil last year.....hmmm.....I dunno, may have to bring it in, the ZF isn't my favorite to tinker with
